Currently Inked: June 2016
For June, I get to work in a couple new pens and inks into the line-up.
HOLDOVERS (In order of appearance in line-up)
Pen: Platinum 3776 Sai M
Ink: Pilot Iroshizuku Kon Peki
I finished the Sailor Shigure in this pen halfway through May and switched to Kon Peki. This is a smooth ink and nib combination.
Pen: Franklin-Christoph Model 20 Translucent Bronze Matsyama Needlepoint
Ink: Diamine Sepia
No surprise, the needlepoint nib means small ink usage. there is still more than half of the ink volume remaining. Also, the sepia with needlepoint is fairly light so I don't use it much for notetaking. Mostly sketching and highlighting.
Pen: Franklin-Christoph 66 Stabilo Ice Music
Ink: Pilot Iroshizuku Asa Gao
I got through quite a bit of the ink in May. the music nib means more ink usage, but it's balanced out in that I can't use this nib for note-taking. So, I use it for titles and lettering.
NEW (In order of appearance in line-up)
Pen: Platinum Cool Crystal Rose EF
Ink: Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa
I got Scabiosa from Wonder Pens in May with my order of mini-Midori's. Colour looks nice and suits the Crystal Rose body. Now, in my writing sample, I indicated that the Platinum Cool had an EF nib when it only comes in F or M. Thanks to @Torienga for catching that. The Cool has such a fine nib I often mistake it for EF.
Pen: OMAS Ogiva Alba EF Extra Flessibile
Ink: Akkerman Shocking Blue
Omo. A bottle of Shocking Blue arrived just at the end of May from Vanness. It was previously out of stock so I'm glad to get a bottle of this at last. The colour is intense. Great sheen.
Pen: Bexley Gaston's Special Reserve 14K M
Ink: Diamine Chocolate Brown
This is my first Bexley pen that I also got from Vanness. This is a pretty large pen, I think largest in terms of diameter. I'm really enjoying it so far. Chocolate brown is a good match though I suppose a wine colour would be better match.
Pen: Edison LE Mina EF
Ink: Rohrer & Klingner Salix
I also got Salix from Wonder Pens in with my order of mini-Midori's and Scabiosa. It's a good match with the blue ripple ebonite.
Pen: Lamy 2000 EF
Ink: Diamine Teal
the ink in the Lamy 2000 was too light for my intended use with this pen...heavy note taking. So, this month I went with Diamine Teal. It's darker but not boring black.
Pen: Pilot Falcon SF
Ink: Diamine Jade Green
This is the first time using Diamine Jade Green. To be honest, I never saw jade this...fluorescent before. But, I'm digging it. It's eye catching for sure.
Pen: Franklin-Christoph Model 45 IPO 18k Masuyama M-Cursive Italic
Ink: Sailor Jentle Tokiwa-Matsu
The Model 45 IPO, my fourth FC pen, arrived late May. This is the first gold nib from FC and also the first time I'm trying a cursive italic. I love it. It's been super smooth and the nib shows off the sheen of Tokiwa-Matsu.
So how many pens do you have inked up for June? What are your favourite pen and ink combos?
