Throwback Thursday: First Look at TWSBI Diamond 580 - Orange + Sailor Oku Yama
Yes, I realize that this post is going up on Saturday afternoon in my place of the world. In other places, it's already Sunday. I had the post written up Wednesday night but didn't manage to post it before I headed to a full day meeting on Thursday, followed by a flight. Friday was a recovery day.

Since I have TWSBI 580 in my line up this month, I thought it would be fun to look at the first time I inked it up.
Handwritten Review
Pen: TWSBI Diamond 580 - Orange EF
Ink: Sailor Oku Yama
Paper: Rhodia No. 16 Grid
First time trying Sailor inks, seems quite popular. Also, got this TWSBI. It has a stiff steel nib. A bit more feedback than I expected since people always rave that TWSI has smooth nib. I like how it looks. It's real cool filled with ink.
As for this ink, I love it. It's a nice dark red. Lovely shading from pink to rusty red. Beauty.
Oops got a paper snot on the nib. It's off now.
I'm pleased with this ink purchase. Well behaved. Little to no bleeding, show through.
This kinda reminds me of Diamine Syrah.

The TWSBI pen has performed very well. Since the initial inking, I find the nib feedback to be fine. It's by no means scratchy.
Having used Oku Yama for some time now, I must say that I really love the way this ink looks. It has a particularly beautiful sheen on Tomoe River paper.
