Throwback Thursday: Platinum Cool F & Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu Gaki

This is amongst the first few pen and ink reviews that I did when I started on this journey.  I wrote about how I came to get the Platinum Cool in an earlier post so I won't get into details here.

Handwritten Review

My first Platinum Cool unfortunately died after the first week. There was a crack in the grip. GPC sent me a replace the along with 3 ink samples.  Thanks GPC.  Hopefully this new pen holds up.

Now onto the ink.  This is from  Sept Ink Drop.  This is a fine nib so can't see if there's lots of shading or not.  I'll try to flex nib slightly.  Dry time is quick.

It's an interesting red.  Like maple leaves in the fall?  

Unfortunately I spilt half the sample.

Closing Comments
Indeed the first Platinum Cool that I got cracked after 2 weeks.  The replacement pen has continued to perform admirably.  Goulet Pens were fantastic and sent the replacement very quickly, no questions asked.  I keep this pen inked up all the time and it's of my go-to EDC pens that I keep with my Travellers Notebook.

It's funny where I mentioned flexing the nib in the written review.  I probably wrote that review very soon after getting the pen so I wouldn't have tried flexing much.  I mean, I can barely see any line variation.  These days when I want to flex, I would get more out of it.
