Throwback Thursday: Noodlers Neponset + J. Herbin Emerald de Chivor
Seeing as J. Herbin as just released it's latest 1670 ink, I thought it would be make a nice arc by taking a look at the previous big 1670 release.

Wow. At last I have Emerald to Chivor in my hands. I've been looking forward to the hottest offering from J. Herbin. Loaded up in my broadest nib for maximum sparkle, shading and sheen. It doesn't disappoint. I look forward to using this for special correspondence. Need patience for ink to dry.
Closing Comments
Emerald de Chivor is a beautiful ink. J. Herbin hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I remember the excitement of the fountain pen community when it was released. And for good reason. Look at it. It has unique properties and a psychedelic sheen.

Some in the online fountain pen community theorize that J. Herbin had planned for Emerald de Chivor to be the final and crowning ink of the 1670 series. But then, Diamine came out with a whopping 10 Shimmertastic inks and those have been quite popular. And hence, Caroube de Chypre was born. I'm not a conspiracy theorist so I won't lend support to that theory. I will say, however, that Emerald de Chivor made me a big fan of green. Now, the shimmer is not practical for everyday use, but it sure makes lettering and special correspondence fun.
